2022 BAFTA TV awards winners and disappointments

May 8, 2022 · By

The biggest upsets of the evening arrived early with best supporting actor and best mini-series wins ripped from It’s a Sin. It’s not just a sin, it’s a crime!

Some other actor won best male comedy performance away from Ncuti Gatwa, but Gatwa STOLE THE NIGHT when it was announced he’s the next Doctor. In fact both he and Davies will walk away with the biggest headlines thanks to the announcement timing.

Later in the evening, Olly Alexander and Lydia West were robbed of their BAFTA awards for Leading actor and actress. It’s looking like It’s a Sin won nothing. Odd for a series about the AIDS crisis played in the middle of a pandemic.
