Sex Education season 3 now streaming on Netflix

Critically acclaimed British comedy-drama Sex Education returns for a third season streaming on Netflix. All eight new episodes drop September 17, with the series having been delayed from the usual January start.

Sex Education follows Otis (Asa Butterfield), the son of a sex therapist (Gillian Anderson), as he dispenses sex and relationship advice to his fellow sixth form students as a scheme concocted by classmate Maeve in order to make money, and who sees that Otis is a natural at giving advice. Otis’ advice doesn’t necessarily apply to himself, as he struggles with his own issues and avoiding getting help from his mother. Ncuti Gatwa plays his best friend, Eric, who while out at school, struggles himself to both be accepted by gay classmates and with getting a date.

Sex Education premiered on January 11, 2019 with an eight episode season, followed up on January 17, 2020 with the second season. The show has received dozens of award nominations, picking up three wins—one for the entire show at the British LGBT Awards, and two separate BAFTAs, one for Aimee Lou Wood’s performance and a BAFTA Scotland award to Rwandan-Scot Ncuti Gatwa.
